Laya is a popular South Indian actress who kept her distance from the entertainment industry after getting married in 2006. She debuted with the film Bhadram Koduko as a child artist in 1992. After 7 years, Laya debuted in the lead role with the superhit Telugu film Swayamvaram. Laya was at the peak of her career at the onset of the 2000s. She won two Nandi Awards for Best Actress in consecutive years for Manoharam and Preminchu in 2000 and 2001 respectively. She played significant roles in the films Maa Balaji, Manoharam, Manasunna Maaraju, Kodanda Ramudu and other Telugu Films. She has also spanned her wings to the Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam film industries. Laya recently visited the Nagarjuna Dam with her friend Apoorva Makala.
