Actress Samyuktha Menon Donates Money To Help Wayanad Landlisdes Victims
Samyutkha Menon handed over the cheque to the Viswasanthi Foundation which is actively involved in doing relief work in Wayanad.

Heavy rains in Kerala have led to huge landslides, loss of lives and destruction in hilly areas in Wayanad district in the wee hours of July 30. Amid this situation, many celebrities have expressed solidarity and stepped forward to help the victims by donating money. So far actors like Jyotika, Karthi, Suriya, Fahaad Faasil, Malayalam actor Mammootty and his son and actor Dulquer Salmaan, Rashmika Mandanna and others have contributed to the cause. Now, actress Samyuktha Menon has also stepped forward to do her bit.

Recently Samyutkha Menon has done her bit in contributing to the victims of the Wayanad disaster. The actress handed over the cheque to the Viswasanthi Foundation which is actively involved in doing relief work in Wayanad. She uploaded a photo on her Instagram Story and wrote, “It deeply pains me to witness the calamity that has devastated the lives and livelihoods of our beloved people at Wayanad. I stand in solidarity with them and as a first step in extending my support, I am contributing to the Viswasanthi Foundation for the noble work they are undertaking at Wayanad. I urge everyone to join this cause. Let’s donate to Wayanad and offer our prayers and support to those in need.”

Apart from her, Tamil star Vikram who is famed for films like Ponniyin Selvan: Part I and Raavanan, donated Rs 20 lakh to the victims of the landslide. His manager, Yuvraaj, tweeted about it and wrote, “Pained by the sad news of the devastation caused by the recent landslide in Kerala’s Wayanad district that left over 150 people dead, 197 injured and several others missing, Actor ‘Chiyaa’ Vikram today donated a sum of Rs 20 lakhs to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund.”

As per reports, the landslides in Wayanad are one of the worst disasters to strike Kerala after the floods of 2018, a calamity which killed at least 400 people. As per the recent updates, more than 200 army personnel have been deployed to assist security forces in search and rescue efforts.
