Actor Adarsh Gourav and musician Oaff have teamed up again for their latest song, Bechaini. Known for their creative chemistry, they’ve co-written and co-composed this track. Inspired by their conversations about reliving childhood and teenage memories, the song attempts to capture the innocent excitement of first crushes and loves. Drawing from various influences like classical and progressive rock, electronic and a hint of drum and bass, the composition reflects their musical interests.
Talking about the project, an excited Adarsh said, “Collaborating with Oaff on ‘Bechaini’ has been an incredibly fulfilling experience. We poured our hearts into writing and composing this song, and I can’t wait for our audience to hear it. The song is an ode to the age of innocence, that first feeling of love, when we first experienced it. It’s almost a way of shared expressing shared experiences, that feeling of rush and that feeling in your stomach of that first person you find attractive. That gush and that feeling of the nervousness is what inspired the title, the lyrics and eventually the mood of the song”.
Recently, in an Instagram post, Adarsh opened up about his musical journey and the song. Mentioning that he started learning Hindustani classical at the age of five when he could barely read notes, he wrote, “Before I moved to Mumbai, I was a finalist on Jharkhand idol. 2007, the year I moved to Mumbai, I tried but did not make it past the zonal round in Sa re ga ma Lil champs. I hated losing and after both these rejections I never wanted to sing again.”
He also shared how a lot of encouragement and training got him to sing for two films including Black and White and Chal Chalein. “As I entered my adolescence, I lost all interest in pursuing classical music. I struggled with identifying with any kind of music. I sang for bands in college- Steepsky and Oak Island and it was somewhere in the middle when I heard @karnivool_official and began enjoying music again. I wrote a couple of songs for Oak Island and realised the joy of creating music from scratch,” he added.
