Dhanush is one of the most talented actors whose contributions to the entertainment industry have been immense. Apart from acting, he promotes art and artists’ work as well. He is involved in the construction of the new building of Nadigar Sangam, aka, South India Artistes’ Association, Chennai. As per the recent update, he made a generous donation of Rs 1 crore.
Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), the industry tracker Ramesh Bala shared this news on social media. He posted a photo showing Dhanush receiving a bouquet from actor Nassar and posing for the camera with Karthi. The tweet read, “South Indian Artistes’ Association (SIAA) member – Actor Dhanush donated a sum of rupees 1,00,00,000/- (1 Crore) from his fund towards the construction of New Nadigar Sangam Building. He presented the cheque to SIAA President Thiru. Nassar, Treasurer Thiru. Karthi, and Vice-president Thiru. Poochi S Murugan. South Indian Artistes’ Association expresses its gratitude towards his great gesture.”

Apart from the Captain Miller star, actors like Vijay and Kamal Haasan have also donated Rs 1 crore each towards the building. The association’s General Secretary, Vishal thanked the Leo star on X and wrote, “Thank you means just two words but means a lot to a person when he does it from his heart. Well, I am talking about my favourite actor our very own, Thalapathy Vijay’s brother for donating (rupees) one crore towards our SIAA Nadigar Sangam building work.”

In a separate tweet, he also thanked superstar Kamal Haasan and wrote, “Dearest monument of the Indian film industry. Kamal Haasan sir. Have no words or space here to evaluate and not exaggerate what transpired yesterday when Karthi and Poochi Murugan Sir met you. You started the movement by giving us a cheque of one crore years back and now you continue to support the cause.”

Dhanush was last seen in the film Captain Miller. He is currently busy gearing up for a multi-lingual film, Kubera which is being helmed by Sekhar Kammula. The film will also star Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna and Jim Sarbh. Meanwhile, he will be donning the director’s hat for the upcoming Tamil film Raayan which will star Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram and Sj Suryah.
