Akshay Kumar Deletes 6 Years-Old Tweet Criticising Fuel Price Hike
Interestingly, Akshay wasn't the only one who took to Twitter to tweet out his sheer frustration in 2012, lots of other celebrities, namely Anupam Kher, Amitabh Bachchan, Vivek Agnihotri and others, had also tweeted one thing or the other related to the price-hike under the UPA government.

India's ruling party BJP is currently facing a lot of flak for the fuel price hike and while the common man is criticising the move, celebrities are keeping their mouth shut on the issue. Film industry's blue-eyed boy, Akshay Kumar, who has been making 'conscience decisions' lately regarding his film choices, wasn't always that careful.

For instance, the actor tweeted about the fuel price hike back in 2012, criticising the move. However, his silence over the same issue now has drawn attention and to balance it out the actor decided to delete his tweet from 5 years back. Now we wonder what is making him keep his fingers away from the keypad this time?

The tweet that the actor deleted read, "Guys, I think it’s time to clean up your bicycles and hit the road! As per sources, expecting another petrol price hike."

Now, all these celebrities, who have shown their admiration for the current ruling party, are left with nothing but silence as history repeats itself for the common man.

After a 19-day pre-Karnataka poll hiatus, the price of petrol was hiked recently by 17 paise a litre and diesel by 21 paise as PSU oil firms began passing on the spike witnessed in international rates to consumers. In Delhi, the price of petrol was hiked to Rs 74.80 per litre from Rs 74.63 while the rate of diesel was increased to Rs 66.14 a litre from Rs 65.93, according to a price notification issued by state-owned oil marketing companies.

With this, diesel prices have touched a record high while petrol is at a 56-month peak.

What's your reaction?
