The premiere of Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s debut web series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar turned out to be a star-studded glamorous event. Celebrities like Salman Khan, Ananya Panday, and Ankita Lokhande along with the cast and crew of the series walked the red carpet. The event was nothing short of a fashion extravaganza. Among the stars who added glam to the night was Alia Bhatt. The actress made head turns with her exquisite sharara set. Her choice of traditional ensemble blended perfectly with the theme of the series Heeramandi.
On Wednesday, the Gangubai Kathiawadi star shared a story on her Instagram, allowing fans to get a glimpse of her look from the premiere. Featuring the actress in a sophisticated yet glam look, the story had fans swooning over her enchanting picture. Alia, for the event, slipped into a stunning dusty pink sharara set, picked from the shelves of Seema Gujral.
Her ensemble worth Rs 1.32 lakh featured cutwork embroidery at the hem of the top and bottom of the sharara with graded pearl details on her dupatta. The actress stole the limelight with her irresistible charm as she accentuated her look with a bindi, a pair of drop earrings, and open wavy tresses. Not to forget her radiant smile that left her fans gasping for breath.
Needless to mention, Alia Bhatt has been a Sanjay Leela Bhansali actress herself. She played the protagonist in his film Gangubai Kathiawadi. Her role as a prostitute in the film garnered her critical acclaim from audiences and critics alike, further earning her several accolades. Reports suggest that Alia Bhatt has been signed for another Bhansali film, Love And War. The film, upon its announcement, created excitement among the masses as it will feature Alia with her husband Ranbir Kapoor. Joining the power couple to play the lead in the film will be Vicky Kaushal.
Coming to Heeramandi, the series will be streaming on OTT platform Netflix from May 1 onwards. Based on an epic tale of love, power, retribution, and independence, the series will explore the cultural realities of Heeramandi through the lens of courtesans and their Nawb customers. The series will Fardeen Khan making a grand comeback after a long hiatus from acting. Along with him, the cast also includes Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Sharmin Segal.
