Bollywood star Alia Bhatt also recalled a touching conversation she had with Neetu before marrying Ranbir Kapoor.

Alia Bhatt has spoken candidly about the special bond she shares with her mother-in-law, Neetu Kapoor, and how their relationship has blossomed into a meaningful friendship. In a recent conversation on ‘What Women Want’, Alia revealed how her connection with Neetu has deepened over time, particularly during some of the toughest moments in their lives.

When asked by Kareena Kapoor whom she looks up to in the Kapoor family, Alia’s response was heartwarming. “I think my mother-in-law. We’ve really found a very natural, organic friendship over the last couple of years,” she shared. Alia went on to explain how their bond has grown stronger in recent months, especially during a trip they took together to Paris, where Alia walked for L’Oreal. “She was like, ‘I want to come for the show, I’m so proud,’ and when I was walking, she was literally cheering the loudest. It felt like I was back in school, seeing my mother over there.”

Alia also recalled a touching conversation she had with Neetu before marrying Ranbir Kapoor. Neetu expressed her desire to have the same kind of friendship with Alia that she had with her own mother-in-law, Krishna Raj Kapoor. Alia shared, “She speaks so fondly of Krishna aunty and the moments they shared together. She said, ‘I want the same thing with my daughter-in-law.’ And honestly, it’s happened very naturally.”

Their bond grew even more profound during late Rishi Kapoor’s illness, a time when the family faced great emotional hardship. Alia described how Neetu remained a beacon of positivity, even in the face of devastating news. “During the toughest time, when Rishi uncle was in the hospital, and we were getting bad news after bad news, her face was always full of hope, saying, ‘Let’s keep the positive spirit up.’ It wasn’t easy, but she managed it.”

Alia also noted how Ranbir inherits this optimism from his mother, saying, “Even when he’s stressed or down, he believes in keeping that positivity, not letting it affect others.”
