Actor Anshuman Jha, renowned for his roles in films like Love Sex Aur Dhokha, Fugly and Mastram, is embracing fatherhood as he prepares to welcome his first child with wife Sierra, due in March. In light of this significant milestone, Jha has decided to take paternity leave, prioritising his presence and support for his pregnant wife throughout and after the delivery.
The actor, currently filming for Lakadbaggha 2, a sequel to his 2023 release Lakadbaggha, expressed his heartfelt decision, stating, “Listening to my heart here. I want to prioritise being with Sierra at this time. Being with her through these last six weeks and for at least a month after delivery feels like the right thing to do.” Originally planning to return to work after two weeks, Jha emphasised the importance of this momentous occasion in their lives, underscoring his commitment to being by Sierra’s side.
With Sierra’s delivery scheduled in America, where her parents reside, Jha reflects on the absence of his parents, who passed away in 2020, emphasising the significance of having grandparents in a child’s life. He expressed longing for his mother’s presence, highlighting Sierra’s fortune in having her parents’ support during this transformative period.
Despite the legal allowance to determine the child’s gender in America, the couple has opted to keep this detail private, adding an element of surprise to their journey into parenthood.
Before he decided to take paternity leave, Jha was immersed in filming Lakadbaggha 2, directed by Victor Mukherjee and featuring co-stars Riddhi Dogra, Paresh Pahuja and Milind Soman. The film, produced under the banner of First Ray Films and with music by Simon Fransquet, hit screens on January 13, 2023, marking Jha’s continued dedication to his craft amidst his milestones.
As Jha embraces his new role as a father, his decision to prioritise family underscores the profound significance of this chapter in his life, epitomising the balancing act between career and personal fulfilment.
