T-Series head Bhushan Kumar addressed the rumours about his and Divya Khossla’s divorce. Earlier this year, Divya sparked divorce rumours after she dropped his surname. Although Bhushan and Divya’s teams have clarified that there is no trouble in their relationship, Bhushan addressed the divorce rumours in person for the first time. In a recent interview, Bhushan said that she dropped the surname for astrological reasons and nothing more.
The producer at first did not want to indulge in the details of the issue given that he was sitting in front of the camera to promote his film, Srikanth and wanted all focus on it. “Not here because we are talking about the film (Srikanth),” he said, before giving a quick update. “But nothing of that thing has happened. We have always cleared it also. She had also cleared it. It is just that astrological reason, she wanted (to change). I don’t follow but she follows,” he told Zoom TV.
In February, a spokesperson from Divya’s team told News18 Showsha, “Divya Khossla’s choice to drop her married surname, driven by astrological beliefs, is a personal decision and should be respected, her addition of an ‘s’ to her maiden surname, symbolizing her astrological belief is for the same thought.” Divya Khossla’s choice to add an ‘s’ to her name is personal too.
Bhushan and Divya tied the knot in 2005. The couple met on the sets of Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo. It is reported that Bhushan fell in love with her and wanted to marry her. Divya added that it was her mother who convinced her to say yes to Bhushan. While Bhushan is an acclaimed producer in the film industry, Divya has worked as a director in several films before trying her hand on acting. She was last seen in Yaariyan 2 and will now be seen in Savi.
