George Miller directed Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga has finally hit theatres, nearly a decade after Fury Road. Featuring actors Chris Hemsworth, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Tom Burke in the lead roles, the film also has the Marvel star’s wife, Elsa Pataky, in a double role. Best known for her role in Vin Diesel’s Fast & Furious, Pataky plays Vulvalini General, who helps Furiosa’s mother, Marry Jabassa. While the character is quite heroic, the Spanish actress will next play Mr Norton, a member of Dementus’s crew.
Covered in scars and looking nothing like the General or Pakaty, Norton prominently stands out when Dementus (Hemsworth) instructs his gang to attack a man in front of a young Furiosa. Speaking about working with her wife in the film, Chris Hemsworth recently unveiled how they “hang out” at work. “She plays two characters secretly. I don’t think I am supposed to say that, but keep your eyes peeled. It’s great. We got three kids, so the only time we get to hang out is at work,” the actor quipped while talking to Entertainment Tonight.

He also explained how it was like a date-night experience for them. “It’s
kind of like date night for us because we have three kids. Going to work together is when we get some alone time. We spent a lot of time together, which is cool, while our kids were also on set a lot. They’ve seen behind the curtain and understand the tricks. Nothing is pretty shocking to them,” he added.

A prequel in the Mad Max series, the film shows the origin of the female warrior Furiosa. Set in the post-apocalyptic world called the ‘Wasteland, it focuses on the protected patch of green where little Furiosa lives, growing up with the biker gang led by Dementus. As the story unfolds, it will be her journey of rebellion and revenge and an attempt to return home.
“As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home,” the film’s official synopsis reads.
While Chris Hemsworth plays Dementus, Anya Taylor-Joy is seen as Furiosa and Alyla Browne is seen as young Furiosa. Also features Nathan Jones, Tom Burke, Angus Sampson, Daniel Webber, Charlee Fraser, and Lachy Hulme.
