Dharma Production’s forthcoming film Good News, which stars Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani in lead roles, has begun shoot.
Both Diljit and Kiara took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a video and a boomerang from the film’s set to announce the beginning of the shoot.
In the video, Diljit is holding a checklist of the film’s cast and crew and is asking Kiara if everyone is present. Kiara says the two of them and director Raj Mehta are on set. They end the video by telling Akshay and Kareena that are missing them and are hoping to begin shooting with them “super super soon”.
Good News marks Akshay return to comedy. Other than the Housefull films, he has been exclusively starring in films with nationalistic messages—Holiday, Airlift, Baby, Rustom, Gold—for several years now. His two upcoming films Kesari and Mission Mangal are also keeping in line with his current patriotic streak.
Kiara, meanwhile, was last seen in Netflix’s Lust Stories. Other than Good News, she will also star alongside Shahid Kapoor in Kabir Singh, the Hindi remake of Telugu film Arjun Reddy.
As of Diljit, he starred in two Hindi films this year—Welcome to New York (alongside Sonakshi Sinha) and Soorma (with Taapsee Pannu). He will now be seen opposite Kriti Sanon in Arjun Patiala next year.
Good News is a family comedy in which Akshay and Kareena play a married couple trying to conceive a baby. Diljit and Kiara play another couple who too want to conceive a baby.
