Ex-Bigg Boss Kannada contestant, producer and social activist Prashanth Sambargi often comes in the crosshairs of many because of his unabashed statements. He created a furore last year when he made disparaging remarks about former JD(S) leader and Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and his son Kumaraswamy. The legal wing of JD(S) had even filed a complaint against him. The same year, he even made a scathing attack on Kannada star Shiva Rajkumar when he said that the actor was campaigning for the Congress party only for money. The ex-Bigg Boss contestant has now reportedly received death threats from unknown miscreants.
According to reports, Prashanth received multiple WhatsApp messages from unknown numbers from outside the country. The messages threatened him with throwing acid over him The miscreants also reportedly had been following Prashanth’s daily activities.
Recently, Prashanth Sambargi raised his voice against the bomb blast at Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru. The message seemed to be in retaliation to his protest against the blast. Some messages also included photos of Prashanth’s children with threats to kill them as well.
Following these threats, Prashant Sambargi has complained to the Channamma Lake Police Station. The police have registered a case based on Sambargi’s complaint and have started an investigation. According to the police, the numbers used are all from international locales including Croatia and the US.
As stated in the complaint, Prashanth Sambargi went to the Rameswaram Cafe re-opening on March 8. There he talked to the media present and thoroughly condemned the attack. Prashanth said that the threats started ever since he gave out the statements. Prashant Sambargi has requested in his complaint that action should be taken against those who threatened him and he should be protected.
The complaint also claimed that the mobile phones of everyone in the family had been hacked and that their private information had been stolen by the miscreants.
