Full-blown Zombie Mayhem in 'Army of The Dead' Teaser, Watch Video
'Army of the Dead' plot combines two of the most popular thriller genres- zombie horror as well as a massive heist plan.

This is definitely Zack Snyder’s year. after the impressive trailer of Zack Snyder’s cut for Justice League, Snyder is back with another cinematic gift for his fans. This time, it’s scary and awesome nightmare fuel- the zombie apocalypse. The Army of the Dead trailer just dropped online and it is already creating a massive buzz among Snyder fans and dystopian fantasy lovers alike. This Netflix venture is Snyder’s first project after his DCEU and first non-superhero film after Sucker Punch in 2011.

Snyder is not a newbie to the genre. His 2003 remake of George Romero’s 1978 cult-classic film Dawn of the Dead is still considered one of the best zombie-horrors till date.

The Army of the Dead plot combines two of the most popular thriller genres- zombie horror as well as a massive heist plan. What better to get your adrenaline rushing as a group of mercenaries carry out a heist in Las Vegas casinos while the world is distracted (read consumed) by the zombie plague. The trailer showcases a departure from Snyder’s usual monotone cinematic style with bright pinks and neons sprinkled throughout the frames, including title cards.

Dave Bautista plays Scott Ward who leads this heist plan into the quarantined zones of the sin-city. but it makes one wonder—what’s the point of stealing money in an apocalyptic world?

As many fans have previously observed, Snyder as an artist shines brightest when the studio interference is least (RE* Justice League*). In this trailer, we see Snyder unleashing his bright cinematography style with long-shots of sun-kissed Las Vegas streets, brightly decorated casino interiors, and even clothing of the dead army.

The sets look massive and impressive with hordes of zombies descending upon fenced off parts. The thrill of escaping these hordes will keep you on the edge of your seat as Matthias Schweighofer, Ella Purnell, Ana de la Reguera, Theo Rossi, Huma Qureshi and Tig Notaro navigate their way through these flesh-hungry zombies while protecting their bags of cash.

The film will release on May 21 on Netflix.

“Netflix : Snyder, how many colours can you bring together? Snyder : Yassss !” Commented one user while another noted, “Snyder, Zombies, Batista & Netflix. That's all what I want.”
