DC Universe’s highly-awaited Superman has got a major update, exactly one year ahead of its release. James Gunn, the orchestrator behind the upcoming film, has officially revealed the new Superman logo, which seems to have confirmed the speculations about the iconic Kingdom Come storyline. Gunn shared the logo on social media platforms with the caption, “In exactly one year #Superman opens all over the world.” Starring David Corenswet as Kal-El, aka Superman, the film will open in theatres on July 11, 2025.

While fans have already had a glimpse of the logo on the hero’s chest in the official photo and the countless number of set pictures, the high-res shot gives a clearer look at it. Drawing apart from the past logos, this one seems to be the most unique, with a minimalist approach.
Talking about the Kingdom Come inspiration, the legendary comic series had Superman retreating from his hero duties after the catastrophic events. However, a rise of evil forces prompts Superman and the other Justice League members to return and save the world. This particular theme of rediscovery can remain at the centre of the DCU film. Even though details about Superman’s plotline have been kept under wraps, Gunn has assured that it is not an origin story but will pick up from Superman’s journey to connect his Kryptonian heritage and human upbringing.
