Kannappa Teaser Out: Fans Excited To Catch Glimpses Of Mohanlal, Prabhas And Akshay Kumar

South Indian cinema has been experimenting with period pieces a lot these days with big-budget films like Baahubali and RRR. Even Tamil cinema soared to new heights with the Ponniyin Selvan movies and more period pieces are in the pipeline like Suriya’s Kanguva. One period movie that is being prepared on a grand scale by the Telugu film industry is Kannappa. Starring Vishnu Manchu in the lead role, the film centres around the legend of Kannappa, a devotee of Lord Shiva, according to folklore.

On June 14, the teaser of the action-packed movie directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh was unveiled and fans got a glimpse of Mohanlal, Prabhas, Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal’s characters. With stunning visuals, elaborate set designs and compelling performances, the teaser hints at an epic narrative rich in mythology. A teaser launch ceremony was held in Hyderabad on Friday with the cast and crew of the movie attending. Vishnu Manchu personally launched the teaser amidst much fanfare

The official Twitter handle of the film posted the Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada trailers of the film with the caption, “Immerse yourselves in the action-packed world of Kannappa as we take you on an adventurous journey of ultimate devotion and sacrifice”.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohan Babu who has produced the film said, “‘With Kannappa, we want to introduce the new generation to the great folktale and show the great devotion with which the great poet Durjati wrote it. We have depicted this in the film. This film, which will emerge as one of the greatest epics of Indian cinema, has been produced with great care and features outstanding actors from all corners of India.”

Actor Vishnu Manju said, “‘Kannappa has been supported by fans since day one. I saw the fan support on social media, which is why I invited some of them here. Kannappa’s journey began in 2014, and when I started the project in 2015, it was only through the encouragement of my father, Mohan Babu, as well as Vinny and Annan Vinay, that I was able to bring Kannappa to the screen with full faith in myself.”
