Comedian Kapil Sharma is back on television after a break with the second season of The Kapil Sharma Show. There were reports that Kapil took
a pay-cut for the new season of the show backed by Salman Khan.
Though the exact figures are not known, but it was said that Kapil charged Rs 60-70 lakh for each weekend episode of the show in its first season. It was also said that he now earns Rs 15-20 lakh per episode during weekends. Reportedly, Bharti Singh and Krushna Abhishek, who are other big names in the world of television stand-up comedy, also get somewhere around Rs 10- 12 lakh per weekend episode.
However, Krushna Abhishek has now refuted all the rumours about Kapil taking a pay-cut. Speaking to Bollywoodlife.com, he told that Salman is a very generous producer. He said, "These pay cut rumours are false. We are getting our stipulated amount. We are extremely happy working together. Anyways, money is secondary. No one can beat the fact that The Kapil Sharma Show is the biggest comedy show in the country."
Reports about the show also suggested that the second season isn't raking in the numbers as expected and the show hasn't received the same kind of warmth or adulation from the audience as the previous season.
Answering the same, a source from the channel told the publication, "Only time will tell if the second season is a success. We are getting enough and more sponsorship for the show till now. The response on social media was also good. The producers are not cutting costs at any levels. The success or failure will be evident after we get the first TRPs."
Meanwhile, Kiku Sharda, Chandan Prabhakar, Sumona Chakravarti are some of the stars who are still a part of the show. Navjot Singh Sidhu continues to sit in the judge's chair.
