Kritika Kamra enacted the bold and strong-willed Habiba Kadri's role in Bambai Meri Jaan.

Actress Kritika Kamra made her debut in the television industry with the 2007 television series Yahaan Ke Hum Sikandar. She, however, catapulted to fame with Arohi Sharma’s character in Kitni Mohabbat Hai alongside Karan Kundrra. She has now taken a sabbatical from television and cemented her position in the OTT industry as well.

Her web series Bambai Meri Jaan directed by Shujaat Saudagar received accolades from the viewers and critics. She enacted the fierce, bold and strong-willed Habiba Kadri’s role in this series starring a powerful cast of actors Kay Kay Menon, Nawab Shah, Nivedita Bhattacharya and others. Bambai Meri Jaan has an IMDB rating of 7.5 on the IMDB and is currently streaming on Amazon Prime.

As the show completes 1 year, Kritika interacted with the IANS regarding it. The actress said, “It feels surreal to look back on Bambai Meri Jaan one year later. Playing Habiba was an intense yet rewarding experience. I still remember the energy on set and the love we received once the show was out.”

Kritika added that Habiba is one of those roles that stays with her. She added that she is so proud to have been part of such a powerful narrative. She bagged the IWM Digital Awards under the most popular supporting actress in the web series category. She also won the Iconic Gold Awards, Bollywood Hungama OTT India Fest, etc for her role in Bambai Meri Jaan.

Some fans claimed that Kritika Kamra’s character in the series reminded them of Haseena Parkar, the younger sister of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. In an exclusive conversation with News18, Kritika denied any such character connection with the underworld don’s sister. According to her, Bambai Meri Jaan was in the making for a long time and a lot of it was given to us in a condensed form. She added that the characters are not based on anybody, so it’s not a biopic. The 35-year-old actress also talked of her transition from TV to OTT. She said that the work opportunities on the OTT have increased for anyone who has a new voice.
