Chidambaram’s survival thriller, Manjummel Boys maintains its remarkable success at the box office, reaching another milestone on its 15th day of release. With its gripping storyline, the film has raked in an additional Rs 3.40 crore in collections, solidifying its status as a blockbuster. Many attribute the film’s success to luck. Actor Deepak, who portrayed the character Sudeesh in the film said, “Luck can indeed play a significant role in success. However, genuine success is only attainable through consistent discipline and hard work. While some may perceive the film Manjummel Boys as an overnight sensation, it’s the result of dedication and perseverance.”

“But everyone involved in this film has struggled in the film industry for a long time to achieve this success,” he remarked. Deepak began his acting journey with Vineeth Srinivasan’s directorial debut, Malarvaadi Arts Club and delivered a standout performance in Vineeth Srinivasan’s second film, Thattathin Marayathu. Since then, he has appeared in numerous films, including Thira, Rakshadhikari Baiju Oppu, the recently released Captain, and Mammootty’s Kannur Squad.

Director Chidambaram selected him for the role of Sudheesh in the film Manjummel Boys due to his suitability for the character. When the movie received acclaim in Tamil Nadu, meeting Kamal and conversing with him became an unforgettable experience for Deepak.

Director Anurag Kashyap recently reviewed the latest Malayalam film Manjummel Boys and had nothing but praise for the Chidambaran-directed survival thriller. He described it as an ‘extraordinary piece’ on Letterboxd, commending the filmmaking and stating that it surpasses many big-budget films in India. Anurag further expressed admiration for the confidence and innovative storytelling of the film, wondering how such ideas could even be pitched to producers. He also remarked on the gap between Hindi cinema and the recent string of exceptional Malayalam films, suggesting the need for more originality and risk-taking in the Hindi film industry.
