Sudhir Phadke aka Babuji was regarded as a music icon in the Marathi movie industry and Marathi Sugam Sangeet for the last five decades. He has also contributed by singing and composing songs in several Hindi movies as well. Recently, his most popular work, Geet Ramayana has completed 69 years. To commemorate this historical day, a program was held in his honour in Pune and a 20-feet-tall poster of the upcoming movie, Swargandharva Sudhir Phadke was also unveiled. This special event was graced by the who’s-who of the industry like Shridhar Phadke, Anand Madgulkar, Sudhir Phadke’s kin and a few prominent dignitaries from Aakashvani Pune Centre. Also in attendance were the director, writer and co-producer, Yogesh Deshpande, and producer Saurabh Gadgil at the show.
The actors of the forthcoming movie, Swargandharva Sudhir Phadke like Sunil Barve, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Sagar Talashikar, Milind Phatak, Adish Vaidya, Sukhada Khandkekar, Apoorva Modak, Avinash Narkar, Dhiresh Joshi, Paritosh Pradhan were also present.
To fondly remember the works and contributions of Babuji, there were conversations among these dignitaries. Amidst this program, a 20-foot-tall poster of the movie Swargandharva Sudhir Phadke was unveiled which added another layer of excitement to the special event. The movie is based on the musical Maestro. What set apart this event was the presentation of a few famous songs from Geet Ramayana and some unforgettable moments from the movie as well. For the unversed, the Geet Ramayana first commenced on April 1, 1955.
The program was a tribute to Sudhir Phadke. Hence in his honour, his beloved songs, his personality, the background story of a few songs and his journey of penning lyrics of soulful melodies were shown. Many artists shared their experiences while working on the upcoming movie and how they added a layer of depth to the storytelling.
Swargandharva Sudhir Phadke is set to hit the theatres on May 1st. The makers had dropped the teaser of the upcoming movie, which gained positive acclaim from the audience. Actor Sunil Barve is all set to portray the role of Babuji in this musical movie.
