In an earlier interview with Humans of Bombay, Shilpa Shetty shared that several producers threw her out of their films without any reason.

Behind every successful actor, there is always a long story of struggle. Everyone has to overcome many obstacles to become a successful actor. Today, we are talking about one such actress who tasted success even after facing various types of humiliation and body shaming.

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, who is a well-known name in Bollywood, also faced rejections when she first entered the film industry. Though she was left disappointed and disheartened during her initial days, she tasted success and became one of the most successful actresses in the Bollywood film industry.

In an earlier interview with Humans of Bombay, Shilpa shared about her earlier days in the glamour industry. She said, “I was a dark, tall and lanky girl who never thought much about life. After completing my graduation, though I was working I wanted to try something different, something bigger and better. I took the first step when I first took part in a fashion show.”

While talking about her debut in the film industry she said, “Soon after the fashion show I received an offer for a film. I never looked back from there as I got offers of multiple works after that. I was 17 years old then when I first stepped into the industry. That time I was less experienced. I wasn’t even ready for the success which I received then.”

“After a few films, my career came to a halt. I struggled to speak in Hindi in front of the camera. I worked hard but at times I felt like I was lagging somewhere. It becomes harder when you are celebrated in one moment and then ignored in another. I remember several producers threw me out of their films without any reason,” she added.

Shilpa Shetty earlier participated in an American television show Big Brother. While talking about the experience in the show, she said, “I was publicly discriminated against because of my country. It wasn’t easy for me as I was all alone in the house. I believed in myself and kept up my performance. When I won, people came and told me that I made them proud. That moment I felt that all that struggle was worth it.”

Shilpa Shetty is married to businessman Raj Kundra. They have two children Viaan and Shamisha. Despite being thrown out of films, she is presently one of the most popular actresses in Bollywood. She is one of the wealthiest actresses with a luxurious bungalow worth Rs 100 crore and a private jet.
