Nizam Rawther, the screenwriter behind the upcoming Malayalam film, Oru Sarkar Ulpannam, has sadly passed away at the age of 49 on Wednesday morning, i.e., March 6. According to reports, the writer took his last breath at the Kadammanitta Community Health Centre in Pathanamthitta, Kerala.
The news of his passing away has come as a shock to his whole family and the Malayalam film industry. As per the health officials, it has been found that the writer suffered from cardiac arrest. Many of his colleagues and members of the film fraternity have expressed their condolences to the family of the deceased.
According to reports, his untimely death happened just before the release of Oru Sarkar Ulpannam, which was all set to hit theatres on March 8. The writer is survived by his wife and two children, who are equally shocked to hear the news of Nizam’s death.
Notably, Nizam also lent his talent to scripting other films such as Zachariyayude Garbhinikal, Bombay Mittai and Radio. He was also quite active in documentary filmmaking and had made some popular ones that were lauded by the industry. One of his films, Zachariyayude Garbhinikal, garnered many accolades at the 44th Kerala State Film Awards. The film went on to win awards in many categories, including Best Actor, Best Story and the Special Jury Award for Best Director. Apart from that, actress Sanusha, who played the role of Saira in the film, received a Jury Mention and the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress in the Malayalam language for her performance.
Nizam Rawther’s upcoming film, Oru Sarkar Ulpannam found itself in many controversies even before its release. One of the major issues was regarding the title of the film. Initially, the film was titled Oru Bharatha Sarkar Ulppannam, but it faced a lot of scrutiny from the Censor Board, resulting in the removal of ‘Bharath’ from its name. Later, there was a suggestion from the censor board to even remove the trailer.
Oru Sarkar Ulpannam is penned by Nizam Rawther and directed by TV Renjith. The film is produced by TV Krishnan Thuruthi, Ranjith Jaganathan, and KC Raghunathan under Bhavani Productions. Subheesh Sudhi and Shelly are playing the lead roles in the film.
