Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Says Indians Get Married Abroad For Pak Artists To Perform: 'We Couldn't Travel...'
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan said that Indians host destination weddings abroad to invite Pakistani artists to perform.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, who is making headlines for a controversy, recently appeared on YouTuber Adeel Asif’s podcast and said that Indians host destination weddings so that they can invite Pakistani artists like him and Atif Aslam to perform at the ceremony.

He said, “Since we couldn’t travel to India, Indians… I would like to give them some credit, they started hosting their destination weddings in foreign countries because India does not allow Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Shafqat Amanat Ali, Atif Aslam to come in and perform. (They said) We will host our weddings outside so they can come and perform.”

After the URI attack in 2016, there has been a ban on Pakistani artists working in India. However, artists like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Atif Aslam and others are immensely popular in India. Although last year the Bombay High Court rejected a plea seeking that Indian firms not hire Pakistani artists, we are yet to see Pakistani artists back in Bollywood.

Amid this, it was reported earlier that Atif Aslam is gearing up to make his Bollywood comeback with the upcoming film Love Story of 90s. “It is a very reassuring thing for Atif Aslam to make a comeback after 7-8 years. We are very happy because he has sung the first song in our film Love Story of 90s. Atif Aslam’s fans will be very thrilled. He is going to make a comeback in Bollywood through our film,” the producers had said earlier.

Meanwhile, as for Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, everyone was left shocked recently when a video of the Pakistani singer thrashing his disciple went viral on social media. While many condemned the singer’s actions, he has also now finally opened up about the incident. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, in the same podcast interview, shared that he has already apologised to Naveed, his protege.
