The Central Bank of India has seized a property worth crores belonging to actor Rajpal Yadav in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, due to an unpaid loan. The loan, originally Rs 3 crore, was taken using properties owned by his father, Naurang Yadav, as collateral. Rajpal Yadav secured the loan from the Central Bank of India’s Mumbai branch at Bandra Kurla Complex. However, after failing to repay, the loan amount increased to Rs 11 crore. On August 8, a team from the bank’s Bandra Kurla Complex branch arrived in Shahjahanpur and sealed the property.
Bank employees have placed locks on the gate of Rajpal Yadav’s property in the upscale Seth Enclave area of Shahjahanpur due to an unpaid loan.
Rajpal Yadav, a well-known actor with over 150 films in Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Kannada and Bengali, is best known for his roles in comedies and his versatile acting skills. The 53-year-old actor, who is originally from Shahjahanpur, has faced legal troubles before. He was previously jailed for failing to repay a loan related to his film Ata Pata Lapata, which he directed and his wife, Radha Yadav, produced.
During the beginning of his career, Rajpal Yadav struggled a lot to bag roles in films. Due to his height and unconventional looks, many producers and filmmakers rejected him. Finally, in 1999, Rajpal Yadav got to work on his first film, Dil Kya Kare. After garnering immense success, Rajpal Yadav featured in some of the most popular Hindi films like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Chup Chup Ke, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Dhol, Phir Hera Pheri, Hungama, Bhagam Bhag, and Garam Masala.
On the work front, Rajpal Yadav was last seen in Chandu Champion and Luv Ki Arrange Marriage. Earlier this year, he was seen at the Cannes Film Festival promoting his thought-provoking film Kaam Chaalu Hai and upcoming film Maktoob in collaboration with Palaash Muchhal.
