Actor Ranvir Shorey has opened up about his relationship with ex-wife Konkona Sensharma, revealing that they remain on friendly terms and are focused on co-parenting their son, Haroon. Ranvir and Konkona, who married in 2010 and divorced in 2020, have managed to keep things amicable for their child’s sake.
In a chat with Siddharth Kannan, Ranvir clarified that Haroon spends equal time with both parents. He admitted that his decision to join Bigg Boss was influenced by Konkona taking their son on vacation. He said, “If we’re both in town, he spends one week at a time with each of us; if she’s travelling on work, then I stay with him, I’m travelling for work, she stays here.”
Asked how Haroon has coped with the arrangement, Ranvir said that he’s fine with it. He said, “He’s managed quite well… We might not have been able to give him a single loving home, but we have managed to give him a single loving neighbourhood. She lives only 100 metres down, and there’s a park between nearby, so the transition is quite seamless for him. We’ve tried our best to not make it heavy on him, the moving… It seems like one seamless move from one house to the other.” Ranvir added that his relationship with Konkona is ‘cordial as co-parents’.
During Bigg Boss OTT 3, Ranvir had said that he decided to participate in the show because he had no offers otherwise. When asked if he thinks his Bigg Boss journey might revive his career, Ranvir told News18 Showsha, “I have no clue. I still don’t know what they have shown on the show, compared to what I experienced. I don’t know what was shown to people. I don’t know how people have reacted to it. I don’t even have my phone yet. I really can’t comment on what will happen from now on. I occasionally take part in reality TV shows. I intend to go back to what my core area or my profession is i.e. filmmaking, acting, and music. These are my passions and profession. If someway this show contributes positively to my professional life, I will be grateful.”
