Rhea Kapoor Has a Heart of a Musician: Veere Di Wedding Composer Shashwat Sachdev
Rhea Kapoor, the producer of Veere Di Wedding has time and again expressed the fact that the film is really close to her heart. On her involvement with the music of the film, the composer revealed that she shares a real close connection with the music of this film.

After composing melodious, folk-flavor rich songs for Phillauri, music composer Shashwat Sachdev is back to his electronic roots with Veere Di Wedding. Sachdev, who collaborated with Grammy winner Tony Maserati before entering Bollywood, has composed four songs in Shashanka Ghosh’s directorial. Out of the four compositions, three - Bass Gira De, Pappi Le Lun, and Bhangra Ta Sajda - are hardcore dance numbers.

While the aforementioned songs carry the fervor which one would typically expect from wedding numbers, the composer explains the idea to compose wedding songs wasn’t deliberate. "My intention was not to make wedding songs. Three of my songs in the film are peppy numbers, meant not just for the wedding, but for any occasion, you’d want to dance. Bass Gira De and Pappi Le Lun aren’t typical wedding songs. Both use music with traditional feel mixed with electronic beats, giving the usual bhangra songs a modern and contemporary touch."

Aa Jao Na, the fourth song by the composer which has been sung by Arijit Singh, is a breezy number. On being asked about his experience while working with the ace voice that's ruling the Hindi film industry, Sachdev said, "Arjit Singh is the most dedicated singer on the block and you can sense it just from his aura. It was a fantastic experience to work with him. Aa Jao Na is something the singer hasn't done before. If you remove the lyrics, you can still sway with the music. It has a rather western touch in its core music element."

Rhea Kapoor, the producer of Veere Di Wedding has time and again expressed the fact that the film is really close to her heart. On her involvement with the music of the film, the composer revealed, "Rhea has the heart of a musician. The kind of connection she shares with her musicians is incredible. This film is her baby and she has made sure to get to know how everything has come out first hand."

However, this doesn't mean she curbed the creative freedom of the artists. "Despite being a producer, Rhea was completely involved with the music of the film and gave artistes full freedom to do their work. She is one person who not only appreciates your work, but also remembers it and promotes it wherever possible."

The idea of roping in multiple music composers in the film has found several takers in the industry, but it doesn’t bother Sachdev much."Veere came to me two years back when I had just entered the industry. Then I was supposed to do just one song for the film. Eventually, the film got delayed and Rhea liked my creation and I ended up composing four songs for the film. As far as the culture of using more than one music composers in the film goes, if I’m getting space and medium to showcase my creativity, it's not an issue. With Rhea, I got it."

The composer signed off by saying that music is an expression of emotions and no matter what the platform is, if you are connecting with the hearts of your audience you will get success and work eventually.

Veere Di Wedding starring Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shika Talsania is all set to release on June 1.
