Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has reacted to the criticism of the climax of his much-debated films Kabir Singh and Animal. While Kabir Singh, a remake of Vanga’s Arjun Reddy, was headlined by Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, Animal starred Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. Vanga said that a section of the audience criticised the climax of his films because of their “personal agenda.”
“People are accustomed to a hero giving a lecture in the climax,” Vanga told Dainik Bhaskar. “He should accept on the screen that what he did was wrong, that is when people get satisfied. They wanted Kabir to accept that he was wrong and that he should not have gotten Preeti. In Animal too, there were so many consequences, the father is going to die, his wife will be leaving him, his health is gone for a toss. Aur kya chahiye, maar dun hero ko climax mein? (What else do you want? Do you want me to kill the hero in the climax?)”
Vanga pointed out that people don’t like a film if they don’t get the “desired” climax. “It’s a problem when people don’t get the desired climax. When personal agenda comes in between watching a film, then Avatar will be boring, Animal kya hai?”
Meanwhile, Vanga revealed that he wants to work with Shah Rukh Khan next. “I want to work with Shah Rukh Khan sir. Every hero ke liye kuch na kuch idea rahega. In Hindi, I definitely want to work with Shah Rukh sir, Ranveer Singh,” he said. The filmmaker revealed that while he hasn’t spoken about any collaboration with SRK yet, the Bollywood superstar liked the teaser of Animal.
“We did not speak about it (Sandeep’s films). He (SRK) saw the teaser, he liked the teaser. I showed him the teaser in the office, he had come during Ganpati,” Vanga added.
