While they first crossed paths in 2005, Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor’s romance started almost a decade after that, going strong ever since. After confirming their relationship in 2015, the couple has become an “iconic” pairing, irrespective of the major 32-year age gap. Despite being together for such a long time, the couple surprisingly doesn’t live together. While all is well between them, it is their secret to a successful relationship. Sarah Paulson, during an interview on the SmartLess podcast, revealed that they don’t live in the same house.

“Holland and I, we spend plenty of time together, but we don’t live in the same house. We’ve been together for a long time now, and I think part of it has to do with that we’re together when we want to be and we’re not when we don’t,” the American Horror Story star said.
Paulson, on being asked if she and the Legally Blonde star would consider separate bedrooms rather than two different homes, said, “No, because we like to fall asleep holding hands. We sleep holding hands; I like to sleep near her.”
“I don’t want to be around her the rest of the time,” she further quipped before admitting that she was “kidding.”
Notably, both Paulson and Taylor share similar thoughts about their relationship. In a 2023 interview with Page Six, Taylor said, “I think we each follow our own path, so we’re not exactly the same. We do some things separately, so everyone gets to be true to what they believe.”
The actress also explained that Paulson is much more social, while she likes a bit of alone time. “Paulson spends some time with friends and not with me, so it’s a good balance,” she added.

Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor met for the first time at a dinner party in 2005; however, the two were already in separate relationships at that time. A decade after that, the Two and a Half Men actress dropped major hints of their romance in 2015 on the WNYC podcast. “It’s the most wonderful, extraordinary thing that could have ever possibly happened in my life,” she said about her relationship at the time. While Taylor did not reveal the name, a month later they confirmed their relationship in December 2015 after making their first public appearance at the opening night of Broadway’s School of Rock in New York City.
