The much-awaited Kamal Haasan starrer Indian 2 is finally gearing up to hit theatres. Ahead of the film’s release, the makers hosted a grand audio launch event on Sunday, June 2, with the entire team in attendance. Directed by Shankar, Indian 2 features Kamal Haasan in the lead role, followed by Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth and Rakul Preet Singh in significant parts. The audio launch event took place at Chennai’s Nehru Indoor Stadium, where all the songs were revealed alongside Anirudh Ravichander’s rocking performance.
Besides, the music director, Shruti Haasan, also surprised everyone by singing some of Haasan’s hit songs. She also shared a couple of pictures from the event and a video showing her touching her father’s feet. In the set of pictures, Shruti can be seen enjoying herself during the performance. Ravichander also joined her as the duo set the stage on fire.

The actress captioned the post with a sweet note, dedicating it to her father and also gave a big shoutout to the music team. “What a night. Was so honoured to perform a tribute to Kamal Haasan my dear Appa at the massive Indian 2 audio launch! Always happy to see him smile when I sing because so much of why I am the musician I am today is because of him. A giant shout out to my incredibly talented band that worked tirelessly for us to put together this newly produced set of songs honouring some of Dad’s incredible musical history in cinema. Thank you,” she wrote.
Shruti also extended her best wishes to the entire team of Indian 2, while lauding Anirudh Ravichander for his incredible music and soundtrack.
Indian 2 Music Launch
While Kamal Haasan marked his attendance at the music launch, he was joined by others like Brahmanandam, Bobby Simha, Lokesh Kanagaraj, Silambarasan TR, Gulshan Grover, producer Subaskaran, and director Shankar. Speaking at the event, Kamal Haasan dropped hints about the themes that Indian 2 and Indian 3 will explore. “I am a Tamilian and an Indian; that’s my identity, and yours too. That’s the concept behind the sequels,” he said, as quoted by The Hindu.
Known for being in production since 2019, Indian 2 suffered multiple halts due to an on-set accident and the COVID-19 pandemic. Having resumed shooting in 2022, the film is now set to release on July 12, 2024.
