Singer Mika Singh Arrested in Dubai for Sending Obscene Messages to 17-year-old Brazilian Model

New Delhi: Bollywood singer Mika Singh has been arrested in Dubai for allegedly sending objectionable pictures to a 17-year-old Brazilian model.

The girl, reports say, has accused Singh of sexual misconduct.

Singh was in Dubai for a concert. His team has confirmed the news. As per ANI, a member of his team said that he has been detained in United Arab Emirates (UAE) after a girl complained against him for sending obscene messages. He was later taken to Abu Dhabi for questioning.

He also promised her a job in a Bollywood movie, Gulf News reported quoting sources. The 'Subah Hone Na De' hitmaker was last seen on stage at a Bollywood awards ceremony followed by a performance at a private party.

Singh has sought consular access and the embassy staff is working on his case, Indian Ambassador to the UAE Navdeep Singh Suri was quoted as saying in the report. "Our team is at the police station. We are working on it," he said.

As per a report in republicworld.com, Singh has been kept at the Muraqqabaat police station.

This is not the first time that the singer has been facing charges of inappropriate behaviour. He has been accused of forcibly kissing the Bollywood's controversial actress Rakhi Sawant.

Meanwhile, official sources in New Delhi said that Singh was detained at 3 AM and legal proceedings were being initiated against him. A media report said that he was held from a bar in Bur Dubai.
