Animal, the first collaboration of actor Ranbir Kapoor and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, was a big box office hit. Even though the two have only now come together, Ranbir has known the director’s work since his directorial debut Arjun Reddy. The actor had even sent him a text message after the release of the Telugu drama, but since it was a text message, the filmmaker did not notice it.

Coming to Animal, the plot revolves around a man and his toxic relationship with his father. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film shows Ranvijay (played by Ranbir) as an anti-hero who would do anything to protect his father (played by Anil Kapoor). Despite his efforts, however, he has difficulty getting the recognition of his emotionally inaccessible father. His unhealthy relationship with his father also affects his bond with his wife, portrayed by Rashmika Mandanna. Bobby plays Animal a cold-blooded antagonist who challenges Ranbir Kapoor’s character.

Animal was released on December 1 in theatres and earned over Rs 1,000 Crore at the box office. According to rumours, filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga will start working on the sequel Animal Park in 2026. According to reports, Vanga, who is currently working on the long-awaited police action thriller Spirit, plans to bring the film to theatres by December 2024 and then start working on the film with Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role.

A source close to the production company told Pinkvilla that Sandeep was extremely “excited” to start filming Animal Park after Prabhas starrer Spirit. Sandeep has already started working on the script for Animal Park. He has finished the basic story arc and many key characters from Animal will also play in Animal Park.
