KGF star Yash’s upcoming movie Toxic has been making headlines for a long time now. It was reported earlier that Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan co-star Nayanthara is also likely to feature in the film. Reportedly, she was approached for the role of a sister in the movie, which was earlier to be played by Kareena Kapoor Khan. Now, as per a fresh update, the actress has begun shooting for the same along with Yash.
According to a source close to the entertainment portal PinkVilla, the India schedule is currently underway, “Toxic went on floors with Yash and Nayanthara schedule in India. This brief stint at real locations of India will be followed by a marathon schedule in London. Geetu Mohandas has planned a total of 200 days of shoot for Toxic, out of which 150-day schedule will be done in and around London. The entire team will be off to the UK soon, and can some of the most pivotal scenes of Toxic in there.”
As per the insider, Yash takes on the role of a suave underworld leader in the movie. However, the portrayal deviates significantly from his character in the KGF series. Describing the character as an underworld don, the narrative adopts a modern and global approach. Drawing inspiration from iconic international series like Peaky Blinders, the film’s essence explores a sophisticated conflict, intriguingly different from the traditional underworld genre.
“While the character is of an underworld don, the tone is very contemporary and international. The core conflict of Toxic and the treatment is on the lines of the cult international series, Peaky Blinder,” the source added.
The shooting schedules for Toxic have been deliberately shrouded in secrecy, adding an air of mystery and anticipation to the project’s development. The action-packed gangster drama is set to hit theaters on April 10, 2025, marking the third anniversary of KGF 2. In addition to the formidable trio of Yash, Nayanthara, and Kiara Advani, Toxic will showcase Huma Qureshi in a riveting antagonist role. Not stopping there, Huma will be supported by a diverse cast of actors chosen from various regions, enhancing the film’s ensemble.
