One of the versatile and sought-after actors in the Indian cinema is Vijay Sethupathi. His son, Surya Sethupathi marked his acting career as a child artist in a few films. Now, he is all set to debut as a hero in his upcoming film, Phoenix. The film will also mark the directorial debut of Anal Arasu. Now, the star has spoken up about his son’s venture into the industry and how he feels about it.
The teaser launch of Phoenix was held at Le Magic, Nungambakkam where the film’s director, Anal Arasu, actor Vijay Sethupathi and his son Surya Vijay Sethupathi were in attendance. The Jawan actor talked about his son’s entry into the industry and said that “it is difficult to survive here” and is aware of “how hard this industry will be” for his son. Further, at the event, the actor added that launching his son in the industry was not pre-planned. He recalled that Anal and he were on a trip reminiscing about old times and Anal narrated a story to his son and asked the actor if he felt Surya was right for the film. He mentioned that if his son is okay, then he has no objections.
Vijay Sethupathi shared that “it is difficult to survive when my boy comes to this field.” He has shared with his that it is difficult to survive in this industry. Every time the actor faced pressure in the industry, it was challenging for his son. But he liked it and now the actor is quite excited to see his teaser. Getting emotional, he said that ever since the birth of his son, he has celebrated 19 Father’s Day, but to date, this has been his best Father’s Day ever.
Meanwhile, Surya confessed that he can get very nervous in front of the camera and gets serious while speaking. But he does not want to talk seriously as he believes he is a funny person. Talking of the fear of trolling online, he said that all the superstars also get trolled, so it is only “natural” that he will get trolled as well.
Phoenix is touted to be a mass-action entertainer and is backed by Rajalakshmi Arasakumar under the banner Brave Man Pictures.
