Model-turned-actress Dhanya Ramkumar is currently making headlines for her latest Kannada-language legal thriller film, The Judgement. Do you know that she is the granddaughter of one of the biggest icons of Indian cinema, Dr. Rajkumar and the daughter of actors Ramkumar and Poornima?
Meanwhile, in a recent interview, Dhanya shared some interesting things about her late grandfather, Dr. Rajkumar, which are currently garnering everyone’s attention.
In the interaction, Dhanya shared that her grandfather, Dr. Rajkumar, loved his grandchildren and children very much. When he got a break from shooting, he used to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family.
Rajkumar loved Dhanya very much. When he used to eat, he called her, and they used to eat together. Rajkumar used to call Dhanya ‘Ammi’. He used to call Ammi and Dhanya used to come running, as she knew that her grandfather would give him something to eat. Dhanya used to share a great bond with her grandfather.
Dr Rajkumar was an Indian actor and singer who worked in Kannada cinema. He is regarded as one of the greatest and most versatile actors in the history of Indian cinema, and he is considered a cultural icon.
In his film career, Rajkumar received eleven Karnataka State Film Awards, including nine Best Actor and two Best Singer awards, eight Filmfare Awards South, and one National Film Award.
Dhanya started her career as an employee at a PR firm in Bangalore and as a fashion model. She got the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut—South for her performance as Amrutha in Ninna Sanihake. Following her success in her debut film, she landed roles in the Kannada film Hide and Seek.
Dhanya’s latest film, The Judgement, is written and directed by Gururaj Kulkarni and backed jointly by G9 Communication Media and Entertainment. The film features V Ravichandran in the lead advocate role, besides Meghana Gaonkar, Diganth, Dhanya Ramkumar, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, and Ravishankar Gowda in pivotal roles.
Anoop Seelin created the film’s score and soundtrack, while PKH Das handled the cinematography and Kemparaju B. S. handled the editing.
