‘We Laugh At This’: Sonnalli Seygall On Being Trolled Over Her Marriage To An Older Man

Pyaar Ka Punchnama actress Sonnalli Seygall is embracing a new chapter as she prepares for motherhood, after tying the knot with her long-time partner Ashesh Sajnani last year. The actress, who announced her pregnancy earlier this year, recently opened up in an interview, sharing moments from her personal and professional life. Sonnalli revealed the emotions she felt when she found out she was expecting and even teased some exciting upcoming projects. But what really grabbed attention was her bold response to the constant trolling about her decision to marry an older man. Wonder what she had to say?

In a candid chat with Filmygyan, Sonnalli Seygall was asked about how she handles trolls who comment on her marrying someone older. Her response was nothing short of hilarious and confident. She said, “Me and Ashesh we laugh at this. This is a very common thing. The funniest thing is, without being very rude guys, the people who are writing it apni sakal to dekho yaar. Matlab kya bolun and salt and pepper is sexy. One of the reasons I am with Ashish is not for the food or not because he is a hotelier and I get fed a lot but because he has that salt and pepper look.”

Sonnalli Seygall married restaurateur and hotelier Ashesh Sajnani on June 7, 2023. Before marrying, the couple had been dating for about four or five years.

In August, Sonnalli announced her pregnancy on social media, sharing with her fans a series of photos. The first snapshot featured the glowing soon-to-be mother showcasing her baby bump while lounging on a cosy couch, indulging in chips and chocolates. Beside her, her husband Ashesh is seen holding on to a beer bottle in one hand and a baby milk sipper in the other, perfectly capturing their upcoming transition. The subsequent images also feature their pet, adding a personal touch to the announcement.

In her caption, she wrote, “From beer bottles to baby bottles… Ashesh’s life is about to change! As for me, some things stay the same. Was eating for 1… now eating for 2! Meanwhile Shamsher is taking notes on how to be a good big brother. Overjoyed & Grateful. Keep us in your prayers. December 2024. baby coming.”

Sonnalli Seygall took part in the Miss International beauty pageant in 2006. She made her Bollywood debut in 2011 with film Pyaar Ka Punchnama, directed by Luv Ranjan. Then she went on to star in films like Wedding Pullav (2015), Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 (2015) and Setters (2019).
