Indian actress and TV presenter, Rashmi Gautam is known for her excellent hosting skills. She shot to fame with the Telugu comedy show Extra Jabardasth. She has worked in more than 25 films and has carved a niche for herself in the industry as a bankable actress. Reportedly, she entered the film industry by signing up for the film Thanks, about which very few people would know about. But technically, Rashmi Gautam’s maiden film in the Telugu industry was Holi opposite Uday Kiran.
Holi is a 2002 Telugu romantic drama film headlined by Uday Kiran and Richa Pallod in the lead roles. The film also starred other actors like Sunil, LB Sriram, Sudha, Jaya Prakash Reddy and Rashmi Gautam. Despite being in a supporting role, the actress appeared in many humorous scenes with Sunil. As per reports, the actress thought that the film would give her a good break. However, there was a time when she wanted to leave the industry as she did not want to do films anymore.
However, it was with Kandaen, which was her first film in the lead role. Despite its underwhelming performance at the box office, she earned acclaim and won the hearts of the audience with her acting. Further, films like Login and Guru cemented her position as an actress. In 2016, Guntur Karam once again gave her career a great boost. Ever since there has been no looking back for her.
In 2016, Rashmi Gautam was roped in for Rani Gaari Bungalow, Antham and Tanu Vachchenanta. She has also featured in films like Next Nuvve, Anthaku Minchi, Sivaranjani, 30 Rojullo Preminchadam Ela and Bomma Blockbuster. In 2023, Organic Mama Hybrid Alludu, where she had a cameo role. In the same year, she starred in two more films Bhola Shankar by Meher Ramesh. It starred megastar Chiranjeevi, Tamannaah Bhatia, Keerthy Suresh and Sushanth.
The film was made on a budget of Rs 101 crore but minted only Rs 42.25 crore. She was last seen in Hostel Boys, aka, Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare, a Kannada black comedy flick. It is directed by Nithin Krishnamurthy and also starred Prajwal BP, Manjunath Nayaka, Rakesh Rajkumar, Srivatsa and Tejas Jayanna Urs, while Rishab Shetty, Pawan Kumar, Shine Shetty and Ramya make cameo appearances.
