When Farah Khan Revealed Govinda Arrived One Day Late For Om Shanti Om's Shoot, Taught Steps to SRK
Farah Khan recalled an interesting anecdote from Om Shanti Om's sets in which she revealed that Govinda arrived for the shoot of Deewangi Deewangi after a day.

Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan achieved the nearly impossible feat of assembling almost all of Bollywood’s top stars for the music video of ‘Deewangi Deewangi’ from ‘Om Shanti Om’. The song featured a dazzling array of talent, including Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta, Priyanka Chopra, Karisma Kapoor, Rekha, and Dharmendra, among many others. In a previous interview, Farah Khan shared behind-the-scenes anecdotes from the shoot, revealing that Govinda arrived nearly 24 hours late for his part.

In an interview on the YouTube channel of IFTDA Official, Farah Khan recounted some of the challenges faced during the filming of the song. She revealed, “Govinda came 24 hours late.” Reflecting on that day, she shared, “We were all waiting; it was his turn, and his shot was ready. So I called him and said, ‘Chichi, where are you?’ He replied, ‘I am shooting in Dharavi.’ I informed him, ‘But we are in Film City.’ Despite this, he eventually appeared the next day.”

During an earlier appearance on Zee Comedy Show, Farah Khan disclosed that despite her 30-year career as a choreographer, she has never choreographed Govinda, even though they’ve known each other since childhood. She recalled that during the shoot of the ‘Deewangi Deewangi: song from ‘Om Shanti Om:, she asked Govinda to teach his steps to Shah Rukh Khan. Farah explained, “Even when he came to shoot for the song, I didn’t have the courage to choreograph him. So, I asked Govinda to choreograph Shah Rukh Khan for his portion, and we decided to keep those steps. They performed the ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ routine in the end, and it came out brilliantly.”

Last year, Catherine Zeta-Jones had expressed that Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Om Shanti Om’ is one of her favourite films along with ‘The Lunch Box’. The Hollywood star was attending the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) with her actor husband Michael Douglas told the media that she showed her son ‘Om Shanti Om’ which is one of her favourite movies. “And when his (sons) kid friends came over, he is like, ‘You want to see a movie from India, it’s my mom’s favorite movie’. We love it and we watched it many times.”

This 2007 film was written and directed by Farah Khan and produced by Gauri Khan under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment. It featured Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in the main roles and also featured Arjun Rampal, Shreyas Talpade, and Kirron Kher in other pivotal roles. This film proved to be a blockbuster at the box office.
