When Shraddha Kapoor Said She Felt 'Like An Outsider', Had To Give Many Auditions: 'Just Like Anybody...'
Shraddha Kapoor said that for someone from a film family, she has had an unconventional journey in Bollywood.

Shraddha Kapoor, who is currently winning hearts in Stree 2, recently recalled how after two flop films in 2010 and 2011, no one in the industry wanted to work with her, till Mohit Suri took a chance and made her the lead in Aashiqui 2. Recollecting her low phase, she mentioned how she had to give auditions for several films, despite being Shakti Kapoor’s daughter. However, this is not the first time that Shraddha has opened up about ‘feeling like an outsider’.

During the promotions of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, Shraddha said in an interview with Good Times, “I feel I think very differently. I don’t know if there are any camps because I don’t think like that. My thinking from the start has been very different. I feel like an outsider who’s had a very regular way of getting into the industry where I had to give auditions for films. There have been so many auditions, just like anybody who wants to get their first or second film.”

“So I have been through all of that. For me, I only know that way. That has been my biggest strength as well. When people ask me ‘You know, you’re from a family but you don’t seem like you’re from a film family. You don’t do films with people from only a certain kind of background. How is it that you’ve had an unconventional journey?’ For me, it’s the most normal way of going about the films that I want to do…,” she added.

The video has resurfaced on Reddit in light of her recent statement and netizens are calling her delusional. One person wrote, “She is as delusional as the other nepos but it doesn’t make headlines cause of her next-door sweet girl image. She may be nice irl but the things they say are just what irks people.” Another person wrote, “She better end this drama now bc if she just owns her privilege she will become a bigger star bc honesty is all we need rn.”

However, some fans also jumped to defend the actress. One person wrote, “While I understand that Shraddha’s PR has gone overboard and she is definitely not an ‘outsider’, her journey was not a cakewalk either. She made her debut in 2010 in a film no one remembers and didn’t have any luck before Aashiqui 2.” Another person wrote, “Why don’t you guys try to understand her point?!? She is Shakti Kapoor’s daughter… that’s not a plus point… He was completely blacklisted by Bollywood.”

Shraddha Kapoor made her Bollywood debut in the 2010 drama film Teen Patti. She was then seen in the 2011 film Luv Ka The End. Both films did not perform well at the box office and failed to bring much acclaim to Shraddha Kapoor.
