Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are the biggest names in Bollywood and are often compared for their superstardom. Though now the two actors are known to have a close friendship, there was a time, when they were embroiled in a high-profile beef with each other, which came to an end because of one man, Baba Siddique.
If the reports are to be believed, the superstars were involved in a heated argument with each other at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party in 2008. After the incident, the duo avoided running into each other at big events.
However, in 2013, the feud between Bollywood’s biggest names came to an end, all thanks to Baba Siddique. His Iftar party in 2013, which was attended by prominent personalities in the industry, saw Salman and Shah Rukh Khan under the same roof after a long time. It was at this party that the two actors hugged and ended their half-a-decade-long beef.
Baba Siddique is a former MLA (Member of the Legislative Assembly) from the Vandre West Vidhan Sabha Constituency, in Maharashtra. He served as the MLA for three terms in 1999, 2004 and 2009. From 2004 to 2008, he became the Minister of State for Food & Civil Supplies, Labour and FDA.

On Thursday, the politician announced that he is resigning from the Indian National Congress. The news came as a shock to many, as he has served the party for nearly 5 decades. Taking to his X handle, Siddique tweeted, “I joined the Indian National Congress party as a young teenager and it has been a significant journey lasting 48 years. Today I resign from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress Party @INCIndia with immediate effect.” He wrote further, “There’s a lot I would have liked to express but as they say, some things are better left unsaid.”
