Why Was Thor Crying In Deadpool & Wolverine? Director Shawn Levy Finally Answers

In Deadpool & Wolverine, we witnessed a range of emotions, from sadness and pure joy to nostalgia. However, one particular moment left everyone intrigued, sparking questions that demanded answers. For a quick refresher, the scene shows Ryan Reynolds’s Wade Wilson in a conversation at the TVA, where a set of TVs displays various moments from the MCU. One of these screens shows Chris Hemsworth’s Thor shedding tears over an injured and battered Deadpool. While Mr Paradox did his best to divert attention from the moment, the Merc with a Mouth couldn’t let it go—and neither could we. Isn’t it?

While the scene seems to have been taken from 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, there is more to it, which will eventually come to light, as explained by Reynolds himself. While fans are eager to know the secret behind the teasing glimpse, even director Shawn Levy is clueless.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Levy said, “I have to be honest with you, we really set out to make a movie that was not a setup for another movie or a sequel to anything. Kevin never insisted that we service some story beyond. I’ve been asked, for instance, why is Thor crying. The answer being: I don’t f—ing know. No one does, but I’d sure love to be the guy who helps find out why.”

While there are just hints about what Deadpool and Wolverine’s future could look like, it is yet to be known whether the ‘TVA leaks’ make any sense or are a subtle hint of Deadpool’s death in the future. “As for what’s beyond, I genuinely don’t know. I genuinely hope and intend to be a part of telling those stories. We were never once asked to service a broader storyline or phase. To this day, I can’t tell you what phase our movie is in. Is it like 14? I sincerely couldn’t tell you,” Levy added.
