CBFC Reacts To Vishal's Corruption Allegation: 'Attempt To Malign Image Will Not Be Tolerated'
Vishal left everyone shocked recently when he alleged that he was asked to pay a bribe worth Rs 6.5 lakh to get the Hindi version of his latest film Mark Anotny released.

Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has reacted to Tamil actor Vishal’s corruption allegation. While Vishal alleged that he was asked to pay a bribe worth Rs 6.5 lakh to get the Hindi version of his latest film Mark Anotny released, the censor board has now said that it has ‘zero tolerance for corruption’. The CBFC assured that strict action will be taken against those found guilty. On the other hand, it also made it clear that any attempt to tarnish its image will not be tolerated.

“We have taken note of the allegations being reported very seriously and CBFC has zero tolerance for corruption. Also, the strictest action will be taken against anyone found involved and we shall get into the root cause. Meanwhile, any attempt to malign the image of CBFC will not be tolerated,” a part of CBFC’s statement read.

“The producers/filmmakers are hereby requested to apply their films well in advance to meet their scheduled release. However, in extreme cases of urgency, the producers/filmmakers may approach the higher officials at CBFC along with a written request and reasonable grounds for an early examination which may be entertained on a merit basis by taking details from our website and/or on [email protected],” the statement added. Vishal left everyone shocked recently when he alleged that he was asked to pay a bribe worth Rs 6.5 lakh to get the Hindi version of his latest film Mark Anotny released. In his post on X, he stated that he paid Rs 3 lakh for screening and Rs 3.5 lakh to obtain a U/A certificate through a detailed back transaction.

Later, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting reacted to the Tamil actor’s allegation and shared that a senior officer has been asked to conduct an ‘inquiry today itself’ into the issue. It further ensured that strict action will be taken against those involved in corruption.

“The issue of corruption in CBFC brought forth by actor @VishalKOfficial is extremely unfortunate. The Government has zero tolerance for corruption and strictest action will be taken against anyone found involved. A senior officer from the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has been deputed to Mumbai to conduct an inquiry today itself,” the ministry wrote.
