The Ganesh Chaturthi festival brings a lot of joy and enthusiasm to devotees. During this festival, energetic songs are played praising the Lord Ganesha. However, a Marathi actress has expressed her anger regarding a song played at the Chaturthi celebrations.
That Marathi actress is Surabhi Bhave. She recently took to her official Instagram handle to express her anger at the situation. In the post, she wrote that she felt like her inner devotee “disappeared” as she heard a certain song. Seemingly, she felt inappropriate that such a song was being played in front of the Lord Ganesha.
A rough translation of the post which was in Marathi reads, “I just heard the song “Aala Baburao” in front of Ganpati Bappa and the devotee in me disappeared before waking up. Why would you have felt like playing this song?? What is the relation between song and bappa? #bappa #alababurao #likereally.” Users are showing support for the actress in the comments. One user wrote, “You are correct madam.” Another user wrote, “Those who introduce the beggar mentality, culture and lack of knowledge, show their worth by playing this song, so many more generations will not be changed.”
