In a world where women champion women, the essence of empowerment sparkles as sassy souls uplift one another. Together, they seamlessly navigate life’s challenges, fixing each other’s crowns with a blend of resilience and unapologetic sass.
Huma Qureshi and Twinkle Khanna recently lit up the literary scene, each unveiling their unique creations in the same week. Covering a span of 27 years, from 1992 to 2019, and taking place in a fictional county nestled in the Himalayas, Huma S Qureshi makes her debut as an author with the book titled “Zeba: An Accidental Superhero.” The actor introduced her book during her session on Saturday (December 2) at the 12th edition of the Bangalore Literature Festival in the capital city of Karnataka.
In sync with the literary symphony, Twinkle Khanna presented “Welcome to Paradise,” a delightful assortment of short stories. These tales revolve around women navigating the intricate pathways of love, marriage, loneliness, and more, all embellished with Twinkle’s signature blend of wit and humor.
What adds a charming layer to this is the camaraderie shared by the two authors. On social media, Huma and Twinkle championed each other’s work, creating a vibrant cross-promotion. Huma shared a photo of Twinkle’s new title and wrote, “Can’t wait to read!!!” Twinkle, in turn, wrote, “And you will meet another Huma within these pages.” To this, Huma replied, “Can’t wait… They say… If a writer likes you then you are immortal.”
Twinkle, with her characteristic humour, pointed out that her book also features a Huma – a spirited girl who will be remembered, while Huma expressed the joy of being immortalised by a fellow writer. This mutual admiration shows the joy of storytellers celebrating the diverse stories that weave the fabric of human experience; in this case the lived experience and voice of empowered and badass women. As readers delve into the worlds crafted by Huma and Twinkle, they embark on parallel journeys of imagination, humour, and emotion, savouring the magic spun by these two talented storytellers.
