Jawan Box Office Collection Opening Weekend: Shah Rukh Khan’s film has been breaking box office records since its release. The film has already entered the Rs 200 crore club in India. It has now been reported that the Atlee directorial has done phenomenal business globally as well. As per reports, SRK’s Jawan has performed better than Oppenheimer and Barbie over the weekend. However, it is worth noting that the Christopher Nolan film and the Greta Gerwig movie were released in July, and spent their 8th weekend at the box office.
According to Deadline, The Nun II opened at a whopping $85.3 million worldwide over the weekend. The horror film, which clashed with Jawan in the US, recorded the second-biggest opening for a movie in the Conjuring Universe. The Nun II was followed by Jawan, which as per the international publication’s sources, has collected over $57 million. Having released on Thursday, September 7, Jawan has surpassed Rs 500 crore box office collection (gross) worldwide. The publication reported that Jawan collected Rs 535 crore at the box office in its opening weekend.
The Equalizer 3, in its second weekend at the box office, collected $11.5 million. The film’s total box office collection worldwide currently stands at $107.7 million. Meanwhile, Oppenheimer collected $19.5 million globally in its 8th weekend at the box office, pushing the global box office collection to $891 million. On the other hand, Barbie added $5.5 million globally, pushing the total box office collection worldwide to $1.403 billion.
Jawan is headlined by Shah Rukh Khan and stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and Deepika Padukone in a special appearance. The film is directed by Atlee and has opened to phenomenal reviews from critics and fans.
Talking about the love Jawan is receiving, in an exclusive conversation with CNN News18, Atlee thanked audiences for showering immense love on his film and said, “The movie is amazing. Let the movie speak. Don’t want to talk much. Thank you all. Love you.”
