In the Bramayugam poster, Mammootty can be seen sitting in a wooden chair with a bare body and a rugged veshti with a grey beard.

Veteran Malayalam actor Mammootty celebrated his 72 birthday on Thursday. The fans showered the actor with love and wishes on social media. The Bheeshma Parvam actor treated his fans by unveiling the first look poster of his upcoming film Bramayugam. The actor in the poster looks unrecognisable. It features Mammootty in a monochrome avatar, with a sinister look and crooked teeth. The first-look poster of Bramayugam has left his fans wondering if he would be seen essaying the role of an antagonist.

The Rorschach actor, who has always been adored for his dead-drop handsome looks, can be seen sitting in a wooden chair with a bare body and a rugged veshti with a grey beard, stained teeth and a vindictive smile which is something fresh for the eyes. According to reports, Mammootty will be playing the role of the villain wizard who lives amidst snakes.

It should be noted here that it is quite early to be sure about the reports of Mammootty playing a hero or villain in Bramayugam. The fans have to wait for it to be confirmed by the makers themselves.

Bramayugam is directed by Rahul Sadasivan who is known for his work in horror films such as Bhoothakaalam and is touted to be set in the dark ages of Kerala. The film also features Arjun Ashokan, Siddharth Bharathan and Amalda Liz in crucial roles. It is said that the makers are aiming to release the film in early 2024.

On Mammootty’s birthday, his son and actor Dulquer Salmaan shared a set of pictures of them. In the pictures, they both can be seen standing in front of the huge mirror while looking at the view. In the next picture, Mammootty can be sitting on the sofa while only Dulquer’s hand is seen. For the day, Mammootty was seen in a white kurta-pyjama while Dulquer donned a white shirt and black denim pants.

“When I was a boy you were the man I wanted to become. When I first stood in front of the camera you were the actor I wanted to become. When I became a father you were everything I wanted to be. I hope one day I become even half of who you are Pa! Wishing you the happiest birthday. May you always continue to awe, entertain and inspire the world in ways only you can,” Dulquer penned a heartfelt note on his father’s birthday.

Apart from Bramayugam, Mammootty has a string of projects in the pipeline including Kottayam Kunjachan 2, a sequel to the 1991 comedy film, in which he reprises his role as the titular character. He also has Yatra 2, directed by Mahi V Raghav and the political thriller Kannur Squad.
