Manoj Bajpayee Recalls Scolding His Daughter While Watching The Archies: 'I Told Her, Tum Hindi...'
Manoj Bajpayee got candid about Agastya Nanda and Suhana Khan's debut film The Archies, which was released on Netflix earlier this month.

Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda and Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan’s movie debut The Archies received mixed response on the internet upon its release on December 7. Now, actor Manoj Bajpayee has recalled his experience of sitting down with his 11-year-old daughter, Ava, to watch The Archies.

“My daughter was watching The Archies. Most kids speak in English these days, so I was scolding her that tum Hindi bola karo. I asked her, ‘how you liking it?’ She was like, ‘Okay,’ and by then, I had watched it for 50 minutes. Archies is not a part of my growing-up years. My growing-up years included Motu Patlu and Ram Balram. I might have read maybe just one book of Archies, but I remember Veronica and Betty,” Manoj told Zoom in an interview.

Manoj also shared that while he was watching The Archies, he told his daughter how she must learn to talk in Hindi like the characters shown in the film. This did not go down well with Ava. “What is your problem, dad? Please let me watch the film,” Ava responded. She also told her father that he was not spending enough family time. Manoj added, “She said, ‘You are not giving family time, papa.’ Every time I start scolding her, she scolds me in return.”

Meanwhile, Farah Khan recently liked a post on social media which was not in the favour of the Archies cast, according to multiple media reports. The post was a film review mocking their acting ability in the film. Interestingly, Farah also did not attend the star-studded premiere of the film, despite her close friendships in the industry, especially with Shah Rukh Khan.

This comes days after Raveena Tandon ‘accidentally’ liked an Instagram post trolling Khushi and Agastya. Her social media activity came to everyone’s notice, and soon the news of her liking a post criticising the star kids went viral. Raveena later issued an apology to The Archies’ team.
