Just after a viral deepfake video that seems to depict Rashmika Mandanna entering an elevator emerged on social media, there’s been a widespread outcry about the misuse of technology and the absence of adequate legal safeguards that have allowed this harmful use of artificial intelligence (AI) to flourish. And now, a video with morphed voice of Priyanka Chopra has now gone viral across on social media.
A manipulated video of Priyanka from a brand promotion interview is circulating online. In contrast to other actresses, Priyanka’s face remains unaltered in controversial video, already it seems like she’s lip syncing. However, in this doctored clip, her voice and original lines are substituted with a fake brand endorsement, where she appears to disclose her annual earnings while promoting the brand.
Now long back, a video of with morphed face of Alia Bhatt has now gone viral across on social media. In the video, Alia Bhatt’s face is edited over a different lady and the latter can be seen sitting on the bed. The video features a girl wearing a blue floral, strapy co-ord set featuring Alia’s face, while she makes gestures towards the camera.
Only a few days ago, a deepfake video of Bollywood actress Kajol surfaced on the internet. In the clip, a woman with Kajol’s face photoshopped on her body could be seen changing clothes on camera. The video is actually of a British social media influencer, who originally shared the clip on TikTok as part of the ‘Get Ready With Me’ trend, according to fact-checking platform BoomLive. In the digitally manipulated video, which is now going viral on social media, Breen’s face is morphed and replaced by that of Kajol’s, and it has been made to look like the Bollywood actress is changing her dress on camera. Katrina Kaif’s action sequence from Tiger-3, where she combatted another woman in a towel, was also morphed in her deepfake.
