India’s World Cup-winning captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni jetted off to Mumbai on September 20, a day after the nation celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi. Upon his visit to the City of Dreams, Dhoni joined hands with Mumabikars to celebrate the auspicious occasion.

Though the location of the pandal is unknown, a video of the event was shared by a fan on X. The clip captured Dhoni in an all-black ensemble making his way into the procession. People gathered in numbers to see the legendary Indian cricketer. Some of them urged Dhoni to offer flowers to Lord Ganesha and he fulfilled the requests with a hearty smile on his face.

Like any other content related to MS Dhoni, the post was able to garner massive traction from X users. Since being dropped on the microblogging platform, the video has already accumulated over 70,000 views and more than 3,000 likes.

A fan was quick to highlight Dhoni’s “infectious” energy, commenting, “Such festive spirit! Enjoying the celebrations with MS Dhoni. His energy is always infectious.”

According to a user, MS Dhoni is looking so “young and energetic” in the video.

On Wednesday, a video went viral across social media where MS Dhoni was spotted making his way out of the Mumbai airport. After stepping out of the airport premises, Dhoni boarded a white SUV that was waiting at the parking space. Several paparazzi were waiting there to click pictures of Dhoni. In the video, they could be heard wishing the Chennai Super Kings skipper on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

MS Dhoni was last seen in action during the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) where he led CSK to secure their fifth title. Dhoni dealt with a knee injury throughout the campaign but made sure to play all the matches ignoring the discomfort. Post the tournament, the wicketkeeper-batter sought medical attention for his injured knee and underwent surgery at the Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai to fully recover.

MS Dhoni was the skipper when India won the ICC ODI World Cup last time in 2011. As the marquee tournament is set to be hosted on Indian soil this year, fans are hopeful that Rohit Sharma and Co will be able to replicate what Dhoni’s side did twelve years ago. The Men in Blue will begin their World Cup campaign with a blockbuster clash against Australia on October 8.
