MS Dhoni was last seen in action during the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) where he led CSK to secure their fifth title. Dhoni dealt with a knee injury throughout the campaign but made sure to play all the matches ignoring the discomfort. Post the tournament, the wicketkeeper-batter sought medical attention for his injured knee and underwent surgery at the Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai to fully recover.
MS Dhoni was the skipper when India won the ICC ODI World Cup last time in 2011. As the marquee tournament is set to be hosted on Indian soil this year, fans are hopeful that Rohit Sharma and Co will be able to replicate what Dhoni’s side did twelve years ago. The Men in Blue will begin their World Cup campaign with a blockbuster clash against Australia on October 8.
