As Israel continues to retaliate against the unwarranted assault by Hamas terrorists over its Army and civilians, John Bolton, former National Security Advisor of the United States supported Israel and said every state has the right to respond when their security is threatened.
In an exclusive conversation with CNN-News18, Bolton said, “Every state has the right to live in peace and with freedom from terrorism and when they are threatened they are entitled to respond and not only in a proportionate manner.”
“The Israelis are the victims of terrorist attacks. Hamas is killing babies and this shows how barbaric they are. They are even using their own women and children as human shields,” Bolton told News18.
About Iran’s involvement in the ongoing conflict, Bolton said that there was no doubt that there were prior consultations between Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah before the Israel-Palestine war began.
“Iran gave all capabilities to Hamas to use whenever they want to use. Hamas is just a gun. Iran pulled the trigger,” he added.
“In 1941, when the USA responded it was not done proportionally, Israel was absolutely right to respond with the force it was using. They can go as far as they can go to eliminate the threat,” said Bolton.
Notably, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Tuesday denied any Iranian involvement in Hamas’s shock weekend attack on Israel despite its strong support for the Palestinian militant group.
“The supporters of the Zionist regime (Israel) and some people in the usurping regime have been spreading rumours over the past two or three days, including that Islamic Iran was behind this action. They are wrong,” Khamenei said in a speech at a military academy.
Earlier today, Naor Gilon, Israel’s Ambassador to India while talking to CNN-News18 said that the Hamas is exhibiting ISIS type of brutality by killing women and children.
Gilani also expressed gratitude towards India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his firm stand against terrorism in solidarity with Israel.
