With the conclusion of Apple’s ‘Wonderlust’ event, we now have all the details about the new iPhone 15 series, which includes the iPhone Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
Notably, pre-orders for these devices have already begun, and Apple has also revealed the prices for the Indian market.
If you are considering an upgrade to the iPhone 15 Pro and want to trade-in your old iPhone 14 Pro, here’s the exchange value Apple is offering:
The Apple iPhone 15 Pro is priced at Rs 1,34,900 in India for the base 128GB variant. It is available for purchase on Apple’s official website in India, as well as at two official stores— Apple BKC in Mumbai and Apple Saket in New Delhi.
We attempted to exchange last year’s flagship, the iPhone 14 Pro 1TB variant, which was priced at Rs 1,79,900 in India before the launch of the iPhone 15 Pro. After entering the relevant information on the Apple India website for the iPhone 15 Pro 128GB exchange, Apple promised an exchange value of only Rs 64,500.
This is Rs 1,15,400 less than the sticker price and represents just 35.85% of the original price paid. It’s important to note that this Rs 64,500 is the price offered by Apple on its website for a phone in mint condition, free of major cracks, chips, and scratches.
This is sure to disappoint current iPhone 14 Pro owners who are looking forward to upgrading to the iPhone 15 Pro. It’s a far cry from the exchange value offered by Apple in the US.
We also attempted to exchange the same device for other variants, including the iPhone 15 Pro Max and even the standard iPhone 15 models, but the maximum value offered by Apple for the iPhone 14 Pro 1TB variant remained Rs 64,500.
Furthermore, Apple explicitly states on its website that the maximum value it will offer for any of the new iPhones is ₹67,800. Therefore, even if you were to exchange a top-end iPhone 14 Pro Max 1TB unit, you would still receive only Rs 67,800.
We also attempted to exchange an iPhone 14 Pro Max 256GB variant, and here as well, Apple’s website returned a value that would disappoint most enthusiasts looking to exchange. For the said unit, Apple would give Rs 58,000.
Apple 14 Pro Max 256GB variant launched at a sticker price of Rs 1,49,900, and the trade-in value offered by Apple—Rs 58,000—is just 38.69% of MSRP.
With that said, the iPhone 15 series is going to be available across stores in India starting September 22, which is the same as the global launch.
