The BCCI has released the list of the players who will go under the hammer in the IPL 2024 auction which will be held at the Coca-Cola Arena, Dubai on December 19th, 2023. It will be the first time the event is being conducted outside of India.
A total of 333 players will go under the hammer, out of which 214 are Indians, 119 are overseas players – 2 of them are from associate nations.
116 capped players will take part in the mini-auction while 215 uncapped players will look to get a place in an IPL franchise.
Meanwhile, a maximum of 77 slots are now available with up to 30 being slotted for overseas players.
23 players have registered their names in the highest bracket of INR 2 crore base price. While 13 players put their names on the list with a base price of INR 1.5 crore.
The Auction ceremony will begin at 1 PM Local time (Dubai) – 2:30 PM IST.
Top stars, who recently participated in World Cup like Harry Brook, Travis Head, Rilee Rossouw, Steve Smith, Gerald Coetzee, Pat Cummins, Harshal Patel, Shardul Thakur, Chris Woakes, Josh Inglis, Lockie Ferguson, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc have the put their name in the highest base price bracket.
There is Wanindu Hasaranga at a base price of Rs 1.5 crore, back in the auction pool along with teammate and find of the World Cup, Dilshan Madushanka, who can attract some handsome bids.
The usual suspects like Shivam Mavi, Kartik Tyagi, the injury-prone Kamlesh Nagarkoti, all young pacers, who believe in plying their trade from IPL to IPL, are priced between Rs 20 to Rs 30 lakh. Someone, on whom all eyes will be trained is New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra, who has a modest base price of Rs 50 lakh.
Gujarat Titans will enter the auction with the highest auction purse – INR 38.15 crore while Lucknow Super Giants will go with the lowest – INR 13.15 crore.
